There are many types of doors for barns.  Many farmers think they have to replace like for like;  that is not the case.  Sliding doors are seen most frequently on barns.  Although sliding doors are robust, especially in windy environments; they are expensive to replace.  The floor tracks tend to get clogged with dirt; as a result, the door is stopped from sliding across.

Roller Shutters are a much more cost-effective alternative.  Requiring very little headroom, they can be insulated or non-insulated.  In addition, they are cheaper to repair.

There are other types of doors that can be installed on barns.  If you have headroom, you can opt for Sectional Overhead Doors.  However, these are not as cheap to install as shutters.
