Roller Shutter Motors

The cheapest roller shutter motors are tube motors. These run on 240v electric and are designed for light use. On a typical British working day, you could safely use your tube motor 10 to 15 times without overheating. However, with the current heatwave, the number of cycles would probably be halved.

If you think your roller shutter motors will be used more frequently, a 3-phase motor is more appropriate.
However, if your opening will be used excessively, you might want to install a speed door with an inverter motor. These motors can be run on 1- or 3-phase power.

This door is not a security door. Your existing external door would remain in place; it would be left up all day whilst the speed door does the work. You would then bring your security door back down at night.
