At Lotinga, we always enjoy a bit outside of the box project, and this sliding barn door project did not disappoint.
This project consisted of removing the existing windows, doors and frames to allow for the creation of a larger opening. The customer was repurposing the barn for a Winery. This meant they needed to get large pieces of equipment through the opening.
The local authority insisted the new doors had to be in keeping with the rest of the building. So, we designed a manual sliding door. It consisted of a 50 x 50 steel box frame clad with vertical wooden panels, just like the walls of the building.
As a result, when the doors are closed, it is hard to tell if the door is there.
The customer could have opted for several different types of industrial doors, but this sliding door was by far the best option.
