What Door Is Right For You?

We will ask the following questions to help you decide which door would be right for you.
"How many times a day will you be using the door?" - The answer to this will determine the motor size we quote for.
"What are you storing in your unit? Do you need an insulated door?" - If the building is insulated (like a cold storage unit), you would need an insulated door to maintain the thermal value of the building.
"Do you have other entrances into the unit?" - If the answer to this is 'no', we will advise using an internal wicket door or a separate personnel door cut into the wall.

There will be other questions, such as what finish you would prefer or the type of operation. Further information on those questions can be found on our Accessories Page.
Finally, we will advise you of the most suitable door; these are usually one of the more common industrial doors. For example, a roller shutter door, a sectional overhead door, or a sliding door.
Depending on how busy your opening is, a high-speed door may be a good idea. Better still, a dual door installation consisting of an external security shutter coupled with a speed door on the inside.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I have had a problem with my electric roller shutter for weeks, now it seems to be struggling to operate, what can you advise?
A. First of all, we strongly recommend that as soon as your door starts to develop a fault, you arrange an inspection as quickly as possible. A fault that is left could cause a chain reaction of other issues. More importantly, that fault could potentially pose a health and safety risk. If your door is struggling to operate, because of the fault, the motor has been damaged and will need replacing.
Q. My shutter door is about 40 years old, can you fix it?
A. New safety regulations that have come into effect within the last ten to twenty years. Therefore, we recommend replacing the door entirely. Older doors do not have safety mechanisms, such as Safety Brakes on them. Safety Brakes stop the curtain from falling should a motor fail or a cable snap. There are many other types of industrial doors, which you can see throughout our Product Pages.
